What we were told afterward
• Coach Powers told us Matthew’s condition was “just a little heat stroke” and “heat
exhaustion,” that he had “seen this a million times,” and that Matthew “just needs an
IV.”
• After the ambulance took Matthew to the hospital, Coach Powers told us that we
working closer to making the Frozen Four because of the workout and Matthew
having pushed himself to the maximum.
• At the hospital we were told to leave so as not to “draw a lot of attention” to Matthew
and the workout.
