A lovely flurry of goals to win it. Timber's touch, turn and finish was fantastic, then adding Saka, Ode and Havertz upped the quality for us. Great to see Eze make an impact with a goal (and 5 shots), and Saka with a goal and an assist should remind some people he's still got lots to offer.

The extent to which 'why can't an owner just invest what they want in their business?' completely ignores the Sheffield Wednesday, Bury, Southend United (and so on) of it all is so infuriating. Leaving it up to owners leaves entire communities on the precipice of no longer having a football club.

As pretty much everyone has been saying, it strains credulity to suggest that the rulebreaking simply stopped in 2018. That's simply when the 115 charges investigation ended.

Incredibly disheartening and empty, these games just rolling on as if nothing ever happened. This will be another few months even in the best case scenario. So many people are going to emotionally check out.

Ultimately it’s meaningless but we’re back to the topic of referees and common sense again. That could’ve easily been a final warning for Gravenberch (taking the context of the game into account) but Kavanagh couldn’t wait to send him off. Sending players off for so little never sits right with me.

Swedish top division game today. 0-0 at half time. 5-6 at full time. From 5-1 down to getting the equalizer in the 97th. Still lost it in the 99th. Oh and it was a derby.

Going back to April, Gyökeres still hasn't started a single league game with Havertz fit. It's now nine in a row (Gyökeres started Fulham and West Ham with Havertz injured) plus the Champions League final. Couldn't be clearer how Arteta sees him at this point.

Funny, I keep hearing that Arsenal only won the league because they spent something like £1bn in fees building the squad. Turns out that doesn't guaranteee you anything? Weird.

Basically everyone associated with City denies everything and doubles, triples, quadruples down. Maresca the latest. They do not have to do this. There is zero remorse. There is zero accountability. They all know the situation, and they are lying or are wilfully ignorant at every single turn.

This is insane in a way that is totally normal for Ronaldo, one of the most deranged, narcissistic players ever, who is used to being granted control of the narrative. What shocks me is that he published this himself. He’s so far gone he thinks this is reasonable and the public will agree.

This is almost, but not quite, as funny as when Saudi Arabia was simultaneously attesting to the Premier League that PIF was not an official government entity and arguing in American court that PIF was officially just the Saudi Government and thus exempt from a number of statutory regulations.

Not proud of it, but I once got creative and registered a team of 20-year-olds in a U10s tournament. Other coaches kept saying things like "you can't use them" and "they have beards" and "I think that's Myles Lewis-Skelly." But whatever happened behind the scenes, the game is won on the pitch.

So after years of insisting to the point of demanding corrections of anyone saying Manchester City is owned by the UAE and not a private investment of “his highness” sheikh Mansour, City will now insist in its appeal that City is actually owned by the UAE. Riiiggghhht then. 🥸

Looking at details in Man City verdict, other cases and leaked emails, it’s astonishing how brazen and straightforward this scheme was without anyone at the PL noticing. It took a computer hack and then leaks to bring it out into open. The oversight clearly couldn’t discover such an obvious scheme.

Andy Burnham's comments today expose the situation of selling national football teams to foreign states. He's taking a view, at least in one reading of his comments, that corrupting the national game is not as big an issue as potentially losing foreign investment in Manchester.
