The way the Dennis Riddell folks have decided to feature racist dogwhistles and explicit transphobia in their ads just makes me want to vote for LeVon Barnes even more! (I was already going to vote against Riddell, who has been overheard lying to voters at our polling place in the last election).

What's not to love about a candidate whose campaign ad features his fanny pack and his pro-public education stance? Vote for Southey! (his opponent is funded by real estate & insurance pacs, and she's famous for fighting to keep our confederate statue and ban books! so easy choice really)

Solidarity with French students, teachers, and school staff who deserve better and more equitable learning environments and financial support--and no brutalization by the militarized State. photo Daniel Perron / Hans Lucas / AFP via Getty Images
A photo of people marching in this week's Paris protests, moving from left to right, mostly in dark cloths, holding signs. The white sign being turned to the camera, center foreground of the image, held by a student whose arms and torso are visible, takes the traditional school crosswalk sign and changes it to better reflect current realities. So it says "Attention École" and below that are the rudimentary black silhouette sign figures of two children walking hand in hand from right to left, but now chased by a helmeted cop figure waving a baton at them and carrying a shield. The figures are outlined with a red rectangular frame that the children are bound by, but the cop's head, leg, and shield burst through the right side of the frame with cartoon movement lines behind him.

Don’t listen to the mayor or the district downplay the reliance on AI in the classroom. Listen to the DONOR’s own priorities, which are driving the adoption of this policy. “We want to be deeply in the classes,” [Paul] English said, “and ultimately, we want every teacher to be using AI.”

Boston is embracing AI in its public schools, unlike NYC and LA - The Boston Globe
The fast-moving technology has some educators, parents, and students worried, even as others argue there’s room for experimentation.
