As both an academic and a writer, I am repelled by the "this looks like a long document. Would you like me to summarize it for you?" that seems to appear at the top of every pdf viewer now. NO. The *entire point* of good writing (either books or journal papers) is that every sentence has a purpose.

I love almost all cheese. There is a lone exception. It was made by Trappist monks and is the stinkiest stinky cheese. It smells like sweat socks that were worn for a full day volleyball tournament, then left to age in a waterproof gym bag for two weeks. It tasted worse. All other cheese is great.

When I was attempting outreach to GSAs when I was drafting 'Exit Plans for Teenage Freaks' multiple schools told me if I wanted to come talk to the GSAs, their parents would have to be contacted and give permission. Many surprised I declined with, "That’s dangerous. Their parents might not know."

As a reader, I love libraries! I can't afford every single book that I read in a year. And I'm avoiding major retailers like Amazon/B&N when I can. So the library is great! Ebooks, audiobooks, and visits for physical copies. My Libby/Hoopla always has something borrowed at any moment.
