and somehow, the vice president calls professors the enemy. all that power over us, and y’all still need to hire conservatives via some fucked up inversion of affirmative action. all that power, and you’re still afraid of grown people who carry flash cards. sounds real beta, ngl.

if conservatives have been expunged or cancelled in higher ed spaces, how come BOVs and policymakers are censoring protected academic speech, funding grants via ideological litmus tests, shutting down entire fields of study, eroding expertise, punishing dissent, *arresting and violencing students*?

so tired of this take. ask some conservatives if they want to make adjunct salaries and see how eager they are. gosh, i wonder why lots of left-leaning folks choose professions like teaching, counseling, and care work? must be indoctrination! no, we just give a shit about others and our world.

Question for folks with a better grasp of the Cuban diaspora as a group - are the impacts of this going to be equally felt across the different migration groups? I can see, for example, the Marielitos having a different reaction than folks who left as kids at the start of the Revolution.

Now would be a great time for a 10 episode, 20 hour prestige series about the ten years between 1916 and 1926, covering the establishment of the 8-hr work day & 5-day work week, in the US. Each episode would be one year & the middle episode should be entirely devoted to the Battle of Blair Mountain.
