One funny thing I've realized over time is that taking a break from a game you're trying to learn actually does help. I've found it's the case for fighting games and tonight was the first time I've grinded DoDonPachi in a few days and it's the best I've done. This image is just unironically true.

The Gigo #3 in Akihabara continues to be a shining beacon in a sea of cultural despair. They replaced their regular Outrun 2 cabinet with an SP DX and it is a religious experience. As usual, this is a great thread you should read if you haven't already. One tangent I'll add is that while you may be familiar with some of the board variants of Sega Tetris, including the Master System-based System E, one you'll likely never see in official retellings is this: Taito's own "port."

An arcade PCB of the largely forgotten Taito H System version of Sega Tetris. Aesthetically, aside from the large number of Taito logos spread across various chips, the biggest difference between it and the official Sega PCBs is that it's all contained on one unified board, rather than a main motherboard and a daughter board that houses the actual game data, as is the case with Sega Tetris "proper."

I genuinely think a lot of people hear this at work genuinely don't realize most custom models are largely built on top of a base model because no one artist or studio has nearly enough data like REMOTELY enough data. You train like a LORA or something you put on top of the base model.
