the negative effects AI is having on software is gonna be something we have to deal with for a very long time, even if it stops today. you can already see the effects in well-known vibe coded sites like bluesky and github that run like shit nowadays, but its incredibly pervasive throughout tech

i think the most useful musical skill i have for playing with other musicians is learning to pick out melodies by ear. this is how i learnt to play songs as a kid and then i used it throughout making electronic music all the time. now its invaluable for seamlessly playing music w others
