#WeekWithoutDriving starts tomorrow! From Oct. 1–8, try walking, biking, rolling, or taking transit for a trip, a day, or the whole week. Give it a try and pay attention to what makes getting around easy and what gets in the way. Info: weekwithoutdriving.org

Left out of this account's account of Dick's being pro-worker is the fact that Dick's opposed raising the minimum wage.

People covered head to toe in latex are looking for an apartment on my street, but aren't sure which one it is. They keep looking at names besides the buzzers at various spots. Then looking at their phones. They have a six pack of Modelo. Folsom Street Fair nearby, for reference.

I think the “there’s a train stop there” is so ignorant. If you think it’s just a scheduling issue you have done no work at all. It’s far beyond just “scheduling”

You know what doesn't have enough painted wizards? Light rail. BART, Muni, Link etc. would be so much better with some good wizard murals.

It's very weird watching a person I know become a political influencer over the last few years.

One thing among many that I hate about Facebook is that it shows me just how much everyone I know fetishizes their early 20s.

This article answers a question that's been on my mind and glossed over as a detail in media since the SPD consent decree was dissolved. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news... Namely, who investigates SPD shootings after the consent decree. It's the KC Independent Force Investigation Team.

Video shows Seattle police shooting of barricaded Beacon Hill woman
The footage shows an officer shooting the woman as she swings what appears to be a tire iron at police. The woman was wounded, but survived.

This is my nightmare, no way to actually learn just a useless bot reinterpreting and ruining things and no way to get to the source. It’s somewhat like my hatred of video only “information “ with no supporting writing.

There's a funny theory of political parties you see around here that goes "if I deny a party my vote they'll work harder to earn it next time" which gets the cause and effect of these things completely backwards

I think it's likely that mode shift will improve overall emissions more than switching buses to battery electric. So use this 💰 for service changes that bring in riders.

If I had realized Dorsey wouldn't have an opponent, I would have filed. Not because I would win or be qualified, but simply because a decent person should be in the race. If your answer for fixing 6th doesn't start with helping the street people on 6th, you're a shit person.

A view of Howard Street at 4th. Howard street is closed and equipment for some sort of conference experience is placed there.

Anecdotal, but it seems like cryptocurrency promotion has receded to be coming mostly from techbros in the industry. I no longer hear that cousins are sinking money into mining cards or from weird friends that BTC means independence from the Fed.

I'm really annoyed by transportation department heads that do fuckall for pedestrians, cyclists and transit riders, then after leaving the job are constantly posting on here about great transportation infrastructure they never did. I get why (bad mayors) but am still annoyed.

This new thread marker is a nice feature. don't have to "waste" characters on them any more.
A Bluesky post from Attorney General Nick Brown. At the end of the text there's a notation "1.2" in a different font color indicating that it is the first of two posts in a thread. The notation is called out with a red circle around it. (The text of the skeet isn't relevant.)

California transportation officials casually allocate $220 million to save one road. Meanwhile, saving all of Bay Area public transportation takes a year long fight just for a short term loan.

Washington being the #1 corporate tax haven in the country is a policy choice. More of the same isn’t going to change that. It’s time for courageous leadership willing to stand up to corporations, not capitulate to them.
