In 2013, a Wikipedia editor jokingly added his own name, Patrick Parker, to the Riddler's profile as one of his aliases, assuming it'd be quickly removed. It was only noticed and removed 9 years later, after the name appeared in The Batman (2022).

Okay, so what's the deal with Patrick Parker?

Well, I had recognized the name as a list of aliases for the Riddler that I had seen over the years, but my buddy Alex Jaffe, an expert at DC trivia who has a question and answer column on DC's website (among many other cool articles he writes for them), wrote to me and asked if I had ever actually seen the alias used in a comic book before. I had not, but I told him I'd try to find it.

He then explained to me his theory that the alias was never actually used in a comic and after reading through a veritable ton of Riddler stories, I think that he is correct. You see, if you went back to, say, 2010 and looked at the Riddler's page on Wikipedia, this is what you would find.

It would say, "Notable aliases E. Nigma (Nygma), Edward (Eddie) Nashton, Eddie Nash"

And that's all well established in the comics to that point.

Well, if you looked at the website after late 2013, like this early 2014 view, you'd see the following, "Notable aliases E. Nigma (Nygma), Edward (Eddie) Nashton, Eddie Nash, Patrick Parker."

Yes, in November of 2013, someone edited the Riddler's Wikipedia page to add the Patrick Parker alias and it has been there ever since (although now it contains a "citation needed" notice on it).

A reddit named "J-Mannix" says: Are we gonna talk about the “Patrick Parker” portion? I’m pretty sure that was never an identity of his in the comics…

A redditor named "pdparker93" replies: Oh yeah, that was never in the comics, shows, movies, games or anything. I've been debating on whether to speak up about it or not, mostly cause I doubt anyone would believe me cause I have no proof, but it's been long enough since the movie came out. I added that name, technically my name, to the wiki page for the Riddler back in 2013ish as one of the Riddler's aliases. I did it as a fun but dumb social experiment. I wanted to test out how reliable wikipedia was as a source. I added my name there to see how long it would last. I figured it would be taken town ages ago. Years go by and I forget about it. Jump to The Batman release and a friend texts me with a pic of the Riddler ID with my name and we thought it was a neat coincidence. Then I started to think and then I did some Google searches. Turns out several other pages were connected to the Riddler wiki page and they all showed Patrick Parker as an alias for the Riddler and then it hit me. The writers must have done base level research on the Riddler, saw the name and thought it would be a neat little Easter egg for eagle eyed fans. However, what they ended up doing was taking a lie from the internet and made it into a truth by using that name as an alias for the Riddler so I have retroactively been made correct.

TLDR: I made my own name cannon in the DC universe.
