I rode on 4 different protected bike lanes, plus used a traffic calmed street and the bus/bike lane on Wisconsin today. This was unfathomable when I got my first ebike about 4.5 years ago. Milwaukee has progres to make, but I gotta celebrate how far we’ve come. 🚲 🎉

Milwaukee joins Angry Catfish Bike Shop and riders all over the country to ride in honor of Alex Pretti. We will meet at 1pm Saturday, January 31 at City Hall and do a Riverwest24 lap in his memory, and in the memory of all who have been murdered by the fascist regime.

Fellow engineers: Stop justifying poor design based on existing conditions. Stop overanalyzing vehicle metrics and viewing non-vehicle interactions as ancillary. Start thinking 'how would someone walk/bike/use transit here?' Start thinking 'how can we make those trips easier?'

The president really matters when it comes to transportation investment. Under Trump, the US DOT sent ~45% of its BUILD program funds—which it had direct control over—to projects that expand roads. Under Biden, this figure declined to ~15% under RAISE. www.urban.org/research/pub...
