Aston Villa are a good side, but you can’t be throwing away a 2-0 lead at home to them straight after hearing what Liverpool did and try to paint yourselves as a better team. Any time Arsenal get mentioned as a threat to us winning the league I just think of this meme.

A lot will be said about the lads but one must also point out to the manager group. They dealt with going down a player in a calm manner( no immediate substitution!) and once again managed to reverse an unfavourable situation in the second half.

Ultimately would rather have got this game out of the way - pressure on it in every sense only ratchets up after Christmas - but calling it off the only sensible course. The sole positive is it means we can go stronger vs Girona than we may have done and get our position in the top eight boxed.

This is an interesting point. We’re at the point now where any extra rest is pretty huge considering the injuries amongst a packed schedule of back-to-back games. Newcastle proved that against us on Wednesday night.
