There is a well-worn path from "uwu no politics" to "how was I supposed to know they were bad?" The fandom we get depends on who and what we support. Folks who ignore the shitty people in their spaces don't realize how it pushes the cool people out of that space until only the shitty ones are left.

These “harmless” Kavanaugh Stops have to stop! BTW: removing due process for undocumented, also removes due process for citizens detained by ICE. ICE will simply say a US citizen is not a US citizen, aka ID is “fake”, with no recourse for the detainee to contact a lawyer to initiate due process.

Preznit Fuckwit is a low-wattage moron who is fundamentally incapable of processing information — and yesterday, he just made one rake-steppingly bone-headed decision after another. thank you for your attention to today's post, in which I bring the receipts. link is here: bit.ly/4Az3oaz
Donny Convict truly is the worst of us.

he’s a burst trash bag of personality defects. can you think of something that isn’t wrong with him? there’s the preening vanity. imagine looking in the mirror, seeing that desiccated piss-mop perched atop your head, and going, ‘oh yeah, I’m really rocking it today.’

then there’s the narcissistic grandiosity, and the overwhelming stupidity.

he’s got fascist tendencies. he’s incapable of ever telling the truth, or admitting mistakes. he’s a cheater. he’s lazy and impulsive, with the attention span of a coked-up squirrel. he’s racist, transphobic, and misogynistic.

he’s delusional, imagining that he’s entitled to all the power, all the money, and all the attention.

but even given all that, never forget that above everything, he’s a complete fucking moron.

...Assumption #4 has been driving me batshit, yet no one seems to realize it: if you're worried trans ppl might potentially harm your Dem candidate's chances, then YOUR CANDIDATE MADE A BAD DECISION! so why not join us in trying to get them to reverse position? juliaserano.medium.com/on-democrats...
screenshot from linked-to essay that reads:
Assumption #4: The elephant in the room that no one is talking about
There is a striking disconnect between Talarico, Turek, et al. — who have clearly made a political calculation that abandoning trans rights will help them more than it will hurt them in this election — and the many cisgender liberals I’ve encountered online who are absolutely freaking out over the possibility that trans people’s critiques and protests will ultimately tank said candidates.
Both of these things cannot simultaneously be true!
If you think your favorite candidate enacted the correct political strategy, then there is no reason to berate trans people for protesting it, as those protests should already be baked into your candidate’s calculations. So why are you berating trans people then? (Unless, of course, you enjoy berating trans people just for the sake of it.)
Alternatively, if you think trans people *are* capable of tanking your favorite candidate via our criticisms and protests, doesn’t that imply that your candidate (and their consultants and strategists) totally fucked up in their political calculations here? And if they did fuck up, shouldn’t you be reaching out and complaining to *them* (rather than berating trans people), in the hope that they might reverse their bad decision?

The stories of rogue AI are intentionally promoting the idea that they’re powerful and can’t be stopped. If it were true, then business models collapse. AI that doesn’t stay in a sandbox is AI that companies can’t gatekeep access to, so why pay them for it?

But not in the way that the stories of rogue AI are promoting. Dangerous to how the fabric of reality is presented online due to the promulgation of incorrect information. Dangerous to the environment in terms of power, water, and land use. Dangerous to the economy as a financial bubble.
