Different French grocery stores operate on different rules of buying produce/fruit and this could be an entire Zine... But also often produce has missing bardcodes that someone has to question you (in French) about and you don't know if you're wrong or the barcode died.. But everyone is SO SWEET.

The buses in France are NUTS, especially around the tiny little fairytale roads of ancient houses and barns, but today we came upon a car with its doors open in the middle of the tiny road + a bus barrelling down the road -- turns out a gentleman was helping an elderly woman out of the car (1 of 2)

The "social contagion" thing drives me screaming angry. When I was young I had no clue trans ppl existed. I'd never met anyone trans. I saw cruel caricatures in pop culture occasionally. When I realized trans was a thing someone could be, it hit like a lightning bolt. My life felt newly possible.

Versailles also has these cute little "trains" that are basically trolleys attached that take people around and at one point, one of them came to stop right beside us and Papa was just happily wagging his tail as a crammed Little Train of people took his photo, haha. A surprise part of the tour!

Another "Oh that makes sense" discovery in France is the outdoor washers/dryers at markets.. It's convenient, cheap (€3-5) and you can get your washing up done in the time it takes you to get groceries. Also they usually have bigger machines in case you just need to wash a comforter or something.

I've had to use a fair number of public bathrooms in France so far and all of them have been amazingly clean and all of them have FULL size doors, or even doors that close all the way up the ceiling?!? The amount of privacy and safety is amazing. Also no one cares that I'm Gender Weird.

We saw a pheasant!!! And had a magical strawberry tart made by the cutest couple who run a boulangerie in Rambouillet and wanted to tell us adorable stories, then gave us free creampuffs!! 💕
