KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 4hThe streets of Chartres are so dreamy (and yes I use mostly clicks to communicate with the dogs -- a lifelong habit, I could click before I could speak). 160
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 10hA crow grabbed my hair and kicked off my back today while we were eating. The crows in France are *aggressive.* But look at the cute lemon tart, which was insanely sour (in a good way) and only €2.50! 170
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Because we are at a temporary rental (still looking for something more our own) we have a way smaller European bed and all 140lbs of giant Papa is used to sleeping with us, so our usual sleeping configuration is him in the middle, @findchaos.bsky.social on tiny side, I'm All Left Bottom Pepperoni 🍕 1161
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Then another set of HUGE rocks was on the way home so we opted to take a stop there too, doggy minds blown (and ours). 040
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Happy rolls because he LOVES 'Big Rocks' and we told him he'd see the biggest rocks yet! 1151
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Yess, it's so worth a visit and extremely quiet, with gorgeous views (it's up HIGH). 120
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 13/10/2026It's Our Lady of Chartres Cathedral, which is definitely less visited despite a train station only an hour's ride from Paris (and even less from us). They have a relic room that's said to hold Mary's veil. It also has a ton of 13th century stained glass, and the most adorable friendly town center. 140
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Shout out to @findchaos.bsky.social for randomly saying we should explore and then we accidentally walked up 300 flights of stairs to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I love that crazy bastard and their love of climbing to the top of mysteries. 2160
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 13/10/2026People in France smoke a lot so when I reach for a pack, they are always disappointed (these are throat lozenges that are shaped like cigarette packages) 3132
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Anyway absolutely not the guy you would picture bonding over vegan bacon and stray kittens but there we were.. 1100
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Got a bunch of the prettiest and cheapest grapes we've ever seen (it is grape season here) and we had a couple before we put them away in our tiny fridge, and omg, I only regret not being able to share them with the dogs/EVERYONE IN THE UNIVERSE (that isn't a fascist).. 1161
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Anyway guess who made friends with some cute SHEEP too? Papa is a friend to all animals, idk why. 2100
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Tiny roses in our tiny bathroom with the tiny Ikea shelf I set up for our tiny toiletries. 070
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Migraine day today so nothing but a lot of crying but @findchaos.bsky.social went to the shops and brought back things to eat and the cutest bouquet of tiny roses. 💕 🌹 They've been taking care of me all day and I'm extremely grateful, it's very scary having a medical episode in a new home country. 3140
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Scored a handmade tiny rug for €6 at Resources &Vous (a charity thrift shop chain here) and omg, she is so beautiful. We have tile floors in this temporary rental while we look for a better one and the pets slip constantly, so this is perfect! 0191
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Just making sweet eyes at each other, vibing.. There are other horses but only this one and his two donkey friends are keen on Papa, the other horses are like "meh" 1231
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 10/10/2026So they're in love now I guess. His horse friend literally neigh-screamed when he saw us and started happy rolling, which made Papa happy roll, and then they sniffed each other like usual and rolled some more -- then he and the donkeys followed us to the end of the paddock :') 4617
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 10/10/2026OH FRANCE NO (and of course @findchaos.bsky.social did not hurt it and seamlessly grabbed it off of my leg and into a cup) But probably a male who dies quickly whereas the females are EVEN BIGGER and live up to 8 years So named Cardinal after the 16thCent. Cardinal who was scared shitless of them 1130
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 09/10/2026It's also getting wildly colder here, so we went to our local B&M (it's kinda like a K-Mart/Big Lots esque store with a little bit of everything for very cheaply) and got two cat beds and luckily the cats took to them right away instead of the usual outright rejection (catnip helped).💕 ❤️ 🐈⬛ 1151
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Doggy adventures! Big props to @findchaos.bsky.social for getting the Butt-Up rolling picture of Papa. 1181
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I also really love the train station Versailles Rive Gauche but to paint it would be to invent artistic skills, patience and straight lines that I do not possess haha. 040
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Little watercolor kit for little watercolors. This one by me, bc I stole @findchaos.bsky.social little watercolors set haha 2121
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 08/10/2026We also found a 400+ year old oak tree, which was thoroughly inspected and told it was a very good tree. 💕 🐺🌳 080
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Rainy day shallot tart while @findchaos.bsky.social was away. A whole bag of shallots here is less than €1. 💕🧅🥧 3171
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Our view/doggy walk yesterday morning, which is just a relaxing stroll away past a few horse paddocks, a local elementary school and up a nondescript hill.. 💕 1121
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 04/10/2026These are 3 day old tiger mosquito bites and they are still somehow itchy. I don't scratch them, they just make puffy huge welts by themselves and scab over. Stiffler had trouble bending their arm for a day because of a softball sized allergic reaction... But at least the pharmacists are so nice! 240
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Also yes those are natural finger waves in my bangs -- yes my hair is messy from walking/errands/dog laying on head but I finally have natural ringlets??? Is France doing this? Idk. Also unrelated I've been off T for a month bc my US doctor is horrible so unfortunately my face has softened a bit.. 1180
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Happy boys. He flopped against me as soon as he hopped onto the pull out bed. My giant teddy bear... 💕 3263
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 04/10/2026France is fairy rules because how is it that a quick park trip always takes us 3 hours of walking before we realize we've been walking for 3 hours, and then our bodies are like "omg I'm exhausted!!" Oh well, happy tired dogs that don't need another walk today, so hurrah. 1201
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Picture of a gate left open at Versailles that we definitely did not go down in, legally 2230
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Editing videos of the dog friendly Abbey we visited and I love how Papa is just absolutely chuffed by architecture and views. 010
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 01/10/20266 minutes of tunnel compressed into 52 seconds. And yes it is THAT SHORT -- there are tons of things you have to go under first to prove you fit in the Shorty Tunnels. Pure terror. 1131
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 30/09/2026A little crowd work video from Central Park's famous Bow Bridge which we didn't realize we went on Labor Day, right before our flights to France. Luckily the dogs were just tickled pink!! 🩷 They love Challenges haha. 160
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Truly one of the most beautiful and intense and peaceful places we have ever been together, especially with the dogs too haha.. Free.99 because of Stiffler's Cultural Attaché status and everyone was absolutely lovely to us, including the tour groups and school field trip that showed up. In love. 0111
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 28/09/2026These grounds also had very cool stereoscopic viewers designed by Architecture students from Paris, depicting the former interiors that were dismantled in the 1700s. 160
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 28/09/2026A very tired dog who saw some cool history and was cooed over by a tour group of like a hundred priests today. 1210
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Versailles also has these cute little "trains" that are basically trolleys attached that take people around and at one point, one of them came to stop right beside us and Papa was just happily wagging his tail as a crammed Little Train of people took his photo, haha. A surprise part of the tour! 290
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 26/09/2026We started at The Trianon and got out of the woods to see the following view, which was lovely! As I was filming it Stiffler slowly pointed to the map and noted that we had to walk to the point I was filming, and then even further to get back to The Trianon, because there ain't no bridges fam... 140
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 26/09/2026One thing about Papa is that when he sees a vast expanse of parkland he's allowed to explore, he wants to explore all of it... So today we let him, and that's how we accidentally walked 4.5 miles in the forests and the whole of The Grand Canal of Versailles... Pictured: a very happy and tired dog. 2161
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Also we drove to the very edge of Normandy today (only an hour and 12 minutes away, yay electric car lol) and there was an Asian grocery that sold Creole spices so!! Merci Normandy!! I can't wait to come back for more spices and to actually go to a beach once the dogs are allowed (by October!). 290
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Oh yeah and we saw some shit that rich people built for themselves that is now a free public park/grounds and wow the rich were all about STAIRS and WATER (and oppression), but the amount of stairs in France means our butts are 390
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Little POV Crow Picnic. A few were fledglings and making the silliest noises and vocalisations at us. I'm excited to go back again and see if they recognize us. 1192
KDotInk @kdotink.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Life Accomplishment: Had a picnic and a bunch of crows showed up to eat with us. 2160
