There is still a massive queue round the block for that viral yoghurt place in Notting Hill. It was all the way down to the tube stop when it first opened and I was going past on the bus. I don't quite get it.

I have seen more of a well respected and now retired academic in the last 3 weeks of conferences than I have in the last 20 years. Academic historians love spending their retirement discussing history with younger scholars.

Universities cannot expect researchers to take risks if they are repeatedly at risk of redundancy while losing professional services support, grappling with the gratuitous vagaries of home and international student number swings and both teaching and assessing in an age of unregulated AI.
