Yes, not all men. But a worryingly large percentage of men are domestic abusers and sex offenders and they don't wear a sign round their neck advertising that, so if she doesn't know you then you are a potential danger. Stop whining about it and start fixing it.

Happy Michaelmas! In some parts of Ireland on this day, rent could be paid in geese. If you’re due to pay rent this month, please consider setting a very irritated goose on your landlord in lieu of payment, in the name of upholding important Irish traditions.
A drawing of mine of a goose looking concerned, with a tag around its neck that reads "This month's rent, with thanks".

I need to look vaguely presentable for work tomorrow. So obviously it's going to be 23 degrees with a 63% chance of rain, making all my decent shoes too damp and my smartish outfits way too warm.

anyway there we go: the pledge to scrap the triple lock after 2030 to fund social care is a big gamble in every sense. meanwhile cabinet ministers briefing that Burnham thinks it's not that the problems have got too big but that politics has got too small/cautious.

Burnham's theme in this speech of taking back control, having power over things that felt like they'd got away from us, having basic agency in life instead of feeling helpless is a good eg of what Starmer always lacked - an overarching story making all the disparate policies seem to mean something

I know charities are struggling to fundraise. I also really don't enjoy people at my front door wanting money, especially when it's pitched in a disingenuous way. Someone who I eventually discovered was from Plan International claimed to be "just sharing issues"; no, you're asking for donations.
