Law schools should also do some soul searching for their part in this debacle. It is only recently that law school professors are speaking up about how lawless SCOTUS is. They treated them like brilliant jurists instead of the obvious political hacks that they are.

We don't talk enough about pre-clearance and that all the states had to do was not enact racist voting laws for a period of time and then they wouldn't be subject to pre-clearance under the VRA. None of the southern states could stop trying to enact racist voting laws. But SCOTUS struck it down.
