Too many mediocre men talk over capable women. Study of problem-solving teams: Men dominate the conversation, taking 50% more turns and saying 69% more than women. Men with low skill speak more than women with high skill. It's long past time to value competence over confidence.

Dataset structure of the advertised Terrestrial laser scanning dataset collection.
The collection contains 121 forest plots, each 50 x 50 m at 1 cm spatial resolution. The collection is structured in 5 campaigns, one in Galicia, Spain, one in La Palma, Spain, one in Ostlandet, Norway, one n Brandenburg, Germany and one in Czechia. For each campaign a picture of an example point cloud is shown.

Women are credited less in science than men - Nature
The difference between the number of men and women listed as authors on scientific papers and inventors on patents is at least partly attributable to unacknowledged contributions by women scientists.

The obsession with “star scientists” and “attracting top talent” fundamentally misunderstands research and higher education. Create a healthy environment that is attractive to all manner of scientists. Because that run of the mill, non-transformative, maybe slightly boring research matters, too.

Traditional clustering methods aim to group unlabelled data points based on their similarity to each other. However, clustering, in the absence of additional information, is an ill-posed problem as there may be many different, yet equally valid, ways to partition a dataset.

Academia has a problem in elevating terrible people into positions of power. "Sure, this person is a narcissist and sociopath, but they get things done! That's a bargain I'm willing to make." It is indeed hard to get things done in academia, so I understand the temptation. But it often ends badly.
