Key mechanisms: insurance reduces herd sizes, smooths income, and stabilizes asset prices — lowering migratory pressure and conflict over scarce resources. A scalable complement to institutional reforms.

Maximum number of journal submissions: you mean per journal or overall? Overall seems very hard to track. What would you want to achieve with it? My worry is if someone is just more productive in creating more papers, wouldn't that punish them?

Very happy about this one — it's been a long journey. Many thanks to @nathannunn.bsky.social and the referees at the QJE for a very constructive process and a meticulous eye for details, and above all to Paul Schaudt for a great collaboration. Free working paper: kai-gehring.net/publications.php

Ok, this made me chuckle. 58% of Swiss say: “I would like neutrality to be interpreted in such a way that Switzerland can join a defence alliance such as NATO if the threat increases.” Which is a hilarious question & position as joining NATO is the end of neutrality.
Ways to join a defence alliance

The question was: ‘How do you think Switzerland's neutrality should be interpreted? I would like neutrality to be interpreted in such a way that Switzerland can join a defence alliance such as NATO if the threat increases.’
