House prices falling by a percentage not seen in 40 years does not mean house prices have fallen to affordable levels - it is just that we have seen them increase so much year on year, that falls seem significant BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE HOUSING AFFORDABLE IT JUST MEANS THE HOUSING MARKET HAS BEEN BROKEN

i know a lot of people really, really want gaza to be a two-sides issue that maps cleanly onto US electoral politics, but it isn't. the mainstream of both parties supports the genocide, because the US as an institution supports the genocide. i know that's uncomfortable but you can't run away from it

Did you know that producing one pound of beef is 25-50x worse for climate change than burning a pound of coal? In fact, it’s one of the most polluting things we can consume. And grass-fed beef is usually *even worse* — thanks to its much higher land use and methane emissions.

71.5% Reporting Fatigue. Connect the Dots — Let’s Talk About Long COVID. #LongCOVID #COVIDisNotOver #COVIDisAirborne Source: x.com/PenGwenWithL...
The image shows a screenshot of a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Gwen B. with LC.
The post shares an article from NBC News with the headline, "Why are Americans so tired? CDC report highlights who's feeling it most." The article image features a tired woman lying in bed.
The social media user text reads: "So after about 90% of the population has had COVID 71.5% of the population is having Long Covid symptoms But MSM won't say that because it's very important that people not start connecting those dots en masse or y'all might start demanding treatments and universal healthcare".

Techno fascist "utopia" “With the nation facing dramatically less rainfall over the next few years, the government is forging ahead with a further 150 data centres which will be built all over the place. Fuck it, they should greenlight 1500 more.” #Auspol
Graphic
WHAT YOU VOTED FOR: Australians are being treated like mushrooms this week because they're being kept in the dark and fed shit.

Scientists and meteorologists have been jumping up and down about it potentially not raining again for a few years, which has alarmed them. Despite this, many Australians have grown up learning about these Spanish children that either light us on fire or drown us, so this latest town crying regarding El Niño's unwelcome return to the continent has largely been ignored.

With the nation facing dramatically less rainfall over the next few years, the government is forging ahead with a further 150 data centres which will be built all over the place. Fuck it, they should greenlight 1500 more.

We're being told that these data centres will revolutionise the way we live, in that nobody will have to suffer the horrific indignity of having executive function again, let alone having to draft a terse email to a leasing agent that won't fix the black mould problem in your toddler's bedroom. The AI future will remove that burden.

Benevolent foreign billionaires have promised to carve off bits of their fortune and give them to us in return for them being built here. We should be happy and feel so fortunate. That they're not going to be built in a developing country, stealing their water and enriching a corrupt few. These people are good people, billionaires. We forgive their trespasses against decent society all the time. Don't we? Anyway, lucky we don't need water. We can just buy bottles of it at the supermarket.

Pen, watercolor, black & white charcoal pencil.

Another featured piece from the Spooky Pants book.

A man in a sweater stands with his hands on his hips looking out of a large window with the curtains open. Things aren’t looking good outside, reader. A massive winged demon is emerging from the clouds as dozens of little ghosts and bone demons rip through the sky. On the ground below we see townsfolk running through the grass. Our man in the window is in no mood for this. He lets us know, “Oh, I am in no mood for this.” His dog looks out the window as well, wagging its tail.

Fantasia (1940) inspired drawing. I think I could’ve gone a little heavier with the chaos outside but we’ll try again with fresh drawings this October. I like how the clouds turned out. Trying to balance my sloppy lines with more detail can be tricky but I think we achieved a good result.

"It had been known earlier to women." I love this understated line from the Online Etymology Dictionary, on the clitoris.
The anatomist Mateo Renaldo Colombo (1516-1559), professor at Padua, claimed
to have discovered it ('De re anatomica,"1559, p. 243). He called it amor Veneris, vel dulcedo "the love or sweetness of Venus." It had been known earlier to women.

Here's a sentiment analysis of the most versatile word in the Australian vocabulary. Hope this is helpful to our international friends.
A scientific sentiment analysis chart mapping Australian uses of the word 'cunt' across valence (positive to negative) and intensity axes. The diagram plots 16 variations including 'sick cunt', 'mad cunt', (very positive, high intensity) 'hard cunt', 'top cunt' and 'lucky cunt' (positive, high intensity), 'good cunt', 'clever cunt', 'funny cunt' (positive, lower intensity), 'soft cunt', 'lazy cunt', 'dumb cunt' (slightly negative, low intensity), 'dodgy cunt, gronk cunt, shit cunt and dead cunt', (negative, high intensity) and 'dog cunt' (very negative, high intensity). The neutral form 'CUNT' sits at the origin.

Tumblr post by user Nitewrighter that reads:
Me: I don't get it. I thought I was doing a lot better than I was a few years ago. I'm like 10 times more on top of things than I used to be. How does everything feel terrible now?

The Tiny Me in OSHA-approved Hi-Vis Gear Who lives in my brain and pulls all the levers: Boss, it's the fascism. You're completely gunked up with cortisol due to the fact that your entire daily life is now underscored with a haunting awareness of the rapid erosion of your rights, dignity, and any and all social safety nets, and you're also bearing witness to the most vulnerable people immediately being persecuted. This creates a natural stress response that basically means you're going to continue having memory and organizational problems, as well as emotional imbalances.

Me: BUT I HAVE A BULLET JOURNAL AND I MEDITATE NOW.
