Man, the automatic assumption of all drivers that others on the road are all assholes and put to harass really does suck. Just tried to let someone know they had a brake light out and was subjected to massive abuse for attempting to do so. When I explained they just grunt ‘oh’ and drive off. Lovely.

Back in the uk! I chose September 11th to fly. On the 25th anniversary no less. What an absolute moron I am. Still, I made it and am now ensconced in a hotel by Hyde park for the next few days. Family time will commence and fun is mandatory. I don’t want to hear any excuses.

Went to see Styx in concert tonight, - birthday present for the wife. They certainly play well and sing extremely well for their age. Not much of a show but damn, they sound good. Come sail away had EVERYONE on their feet. Very much recommended. Now on to Chicago, on the double bill.

I think that Dolly Parton was, for a lot of people, an ambassador of the "good" values people think of about the South: kindness, hospitality, can-do spirit, sharp and witty and down to earth. I think for a segment of people, too, she was theantithesis of a lot of noxious masculine country stuff.

Man, I love my older sister. Half a bottle of wine to finish, a cigar and I just want to talk to my older sister back home. It’s weird how much love I have for family at this point in life, given we didn’t have this relationship growing up. Still, grateful for it now.

First long journey with the Mustang Mache GT. I’ve had it 3 years but never done a long journey in it, and now going to LA from PHX. First charging station in Quartzsite has been achieved. Now half hour charging and off we go for the second leg! Wish me luck!
