Ask him to explain it! The moment hasn't passed, you can ask Trump things an hour later, a day later, even a week later. Even if he's evasive, you can ask twice, three times, or more!

Symbols matter. White House isn't a palace. Kennedy Center is for the general public to enjoy. We don't have a triumphal arch in DC because that's imperial. We don't put the president's face on money because it's monarchical. It's about tearing down everything that says we're a democratic republic.

Even watching this event live, I knew how bad this was. There was not a moment where I thought this was a good idea; at *best*, it’s a way to outsource listening to literal humans to AI, and I hate it.
Text message reading “ Ok I was gonna do an ultra quick summary of this Apple thing, and /among other things was going to say I didn’t like how they’re starting to vector towards more mainstream AI “fuck it, use it for everything”

And then they just threw out this feature where your watch can basically always be recording and you can retroactively save off conversations for AI recaps and man, fuck that so hard”

“My only regret,” Rhodes said in the days after Jan. 6, “is that they didn’t bring rifles.” “We could have fixed it right then and there.” www.lawfaremedia.org/article/oath...
As he planned to disrupt the transfer of power by any means necessary, Nestler says, Rhodes used the Insurrection Act as legal cover. As proof of that claim, Nestler plays a clip of Rhodes instructing Oath Keepers to refer to the Insurrection Act because it could provide "legal cover." According to Nestler, Rhodes thought the act "would give him and his followers plausible deniability."
In December 2020, Nestler alleges, Rhodes told others that Jan. 6 represented a "hard constitutional deadline" to stop the presidential transition. But as that date drew near and a peaceful transition became "more and more likely," Rhodes and his co-conspirators grew "more and more desperate." According to Nestler, Rhodes spent tens of thousands of dollars on firearms and made preparations to store them at a Comfort Inn in Virginia, a state with laws that are more gun-friendly than Washington, D.C. The group's so-called quick reaction force would be stationed at the hotel, prepared to transport the weapons into D.C.-by boat or otherwise—if needed.
Even after Jan. 6, Nestler continues, Rhodes howed no remorse. He plays a recording dated Jan. 10. 'My only regret is that they should have brought rifles," Rhodes says. "We

From the reporter who scooped the news that Treasury's GC was quitting, IRS wrote a 25-page memo about why Trump's IRS lawsuit was dogshit. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/19/a...
I.R.S. officials prepared a 25-page memorandum outlining what they saw as flaws in Mr. Trump’s suit and advising the Justice Department to move to dismiss it, according to two people familiar with the memo. That memo was provided to Treasury officials in April, and it is unclear if they passed it along to its intended recipients at the Justice Department, according to the people, who spoke anonymously to discuss internal government deliberations.

No lawyers from the Justice Department ever appeared in court to respond to the suit or disputed any of Mr. Trump’s claims, which demanded at least $10 billion from the I.R.S. for not doing enough to prevent the leak of his tax information. The Justice Department instead made to a highly unusual deal in the case. In exchange for Mr. Trump dropping the suit, the Trump administration created the $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization” fund for people who say they were wrongly targeted by the federal government.

The existence of the internal memo, which has not been previously reported, shows that the Trump administration disregarded readily available defenses to a lawsuit filed by the president against an agency he controls. While the Justice Department has said that Mr. Trump will not receive money from the new fund, critics have slammed the arrangement as a corrupt attempt at paying Mr. Trump’s political supporters, including, potentially, those who were convicted and later pardoned for storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
