The rush to speculate that asylum seekers are responsible for every crime in the news is a sort of opportunistic informational terrorism. Until it’s disproved it stokes fear and hatred. When it is disproved there are no adverse consequences and they know that they only have to be lucky once.

Photo by Motoki Tonn. A ceramic tea bowl, repaired in the kintsugi tradition, rests on a worn wooden surface against a dark, blurred background. The pale, speckled glaze — white, gray, and brown — is crossed by cracks filled with gold and black lacquer. Where gold traces the breaks, the damage becomes the design. The bowl is low and wide, its form unhurried. Dim light falls across the surface, letting each fissure speak without apology.

PHOTO by Nathan Dumlao. A deflated yellow smiley-face balloon lies abandoned on a damp city street, its crumpled surface and loose string hinting at a lost moment of celebration. A black car speeds past in the foreground, while other vehicles remain parked along the curb. The overcast light and worn pavement give the scene a subdued, fleeting quality.

Life is like riding a bicycle: to keep your balance, you must keep moving. - Albert Einstein
Photo by Matheus Viana. A lone child on a small bicycle rides along a gently sloping grassy hill, casting a long shadow on the earth below. The sky above is vast and nearly white with light, fading softly into a pale blue. The figure is silhouetted against the brilliance, tiny in contrast to the sweeping openness around them. There is no background detail—only grass, sky, and motion—evoking stillness within movement.

Be the rider. Be the bridge. Be the space between.
Photo by Ricky Esquivel. A cyclist rides across a steel bridge under an intricate network of metal beams. The bridge’s shadowed understructure contrasts with the gleaming glass towers in the background, where sunlight reflects off skyscrapers lining the river. A car trails behind the cyclist, and patches of melting snow scatter across the textured road surface. The composition is a layered blend of urban grit and architectural geometry.
