Man, I just don't get this sort of thing. People can be fans of a villainous character and then fight to the death for their right to strip their blorbos of all their aura and turn them into smol beans who apparently just ineffectually stood there for three movies.

Due to some uncertainty about my weekends (and house projects that may create a lot of noise etc) I have to put the Kronology (and the DKC watch party) on hold until October 3. BUT!! It'll be well worth the wait, and I should ALSO have some exciting news about the future of the project and stream-

Today on the Kremling Kronology, your favorite fandom history project dedicated to fictional crocodiles, we officially say goodbye to the SNES (and original GB). It's a summary of the story so far, a look ahead, and a trip through all kinds of promo materials we didn't find time to cover elsewhere!

In this special episode, we take a look at how Donkey Kong Country 3 and Land III reference the real places and culture of our own world. We also have time to check out some Nintendo Power coverage of DKLIII. I personally love the existence of all these references... let's all learn something!

the thing about "I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less and I'm not kidding" is that these games exist and are out there and you have to make the conscious choice to seek them out instead of just expecting the big companies to deliver this

undertale.jadenthejaded.uk (Copy-pasted elaboration in alt-text.)

Patience is a much rarer virtue than people think, because most of what gets called patience is just slowness or avoidance. Patience is the active choice not to force something to happen before its time has come, and to understand the things that cause you pain instead of letting instinct fight them off.

It gives you an unusual tolerance for unresolved situations. While other people need to know things immediately, to have their answers as soon as possible, or to say and do things in the heat of the moment, you can hold an open matter for a long time without it eating at you, while you thoroughly think about how to solve the issue.

Patience can very easily turn into stillness. If the Patient fails to find the answer they're looking for or if they're asked to make a decision before they feel ready, they might decide that it's better not to make a decision at all, running from the situation instead of facing it.

It can also come at a cost for other people. “Let's wait and see” is a reasonable position to take when you're not the one being harmed in the meantime, and Patience can be slow to notice when the problems that don't concern them become someone else's – especially when it comes to finding closure.

Perseverance also concerns itself with facing hardships regardless of how long it may take, but where Perseverance keeps moving even when faced with the most difficult circumstances, Patience is willing to stop moving until the circumstances have changed.

The golden pair, Kindness and Patience. Being able to wait for as long as it takes for someone to ask for help without forcing it upon them is an incredibly rare quality to have, and combined with Kindness's unwavering desire to help those who need it, it makes the kind Patient the friend everyone goes to when in need.

Sadly, nothing comes without a price: being almost too calm, the kind Patient will often seem like a pushover, and might easily end up being used by people – whether they realize it or not.

Fun DeS croc facts: nobody knew the animations were in game files until pretty dang recently. They were stored within model data for those ice guys from King's Field 4 in an out-of-date animation format. I made an educated guess on what they were, and hey, yep! Crocodile animations! The whole time!
