I will occasionally see people defend the courses on the basis that these courses are affordable, and you don't have to be wealthy to use them. But I looked at their rates for Washtenaw County's open courses. Huron Hills is is average, and Leslie Park is one of the pricier ones! #a2council

“As expected, the likelihood of pedestrian death increased – but the rise was consistently greater for height than for weight. In other words, pedestrian fatality risk appeared more sensitive to increases in vehicle height.” On the other hand, air pollutants are more linked to weight.

Better cycling cities are not just "more bike-friendly." They are also more equitable in access to cycling between genders. This means that infrastructure, safety, and policy improvements tend to benefit women more by removing barriers that affect them disproportionately.

1. Here’s a thread on #NIMBY (“not in my backyard”) and the challenges of change in cities: First off, although it might feel that way, NIMBY isn’t unique to your city, and it’s (probably) not worse in your city than anywhere else. It’s also not surprising, since it’s largely about human nature.
