Once you start using dried beans for hummus, it’s hard to go back to the canned version, and we think you'll be surprised by how quickly our new-crop Garbanzos cook. Our favorite way to finish a bowl is simple: a good drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika.

Noticed these on a walk in Como Park today. Neat!

I decided this year that if there is any part of my yard that is not thriving, I will only put new plants there if they are Minnesota natives. I just planted these 105 drought-tolerant native plant plugs in my front yard. Fingers crossed they liked their new home!

Delighted that the dialect survey could still figure me out despite my training myself to say “soda,” /ɑːnt/, and /pəˈd͡ʒɑ.məz/. (I knew “Devil’s night” would be a HUGE giveaway for my birth state (✋), but there were other regionalisms in my idiolect.)

Saw some Sandhill cranes on our way to the grocery store. Stopped on a side street to take pictures because the only big birds I tend to see out and about are turkeys.
