Witnessing historic events, you say? ::motions wildly at the Titanic:: (Mild spoilers #HistorytownAZ) Emma, Clara, and Oliver were all working not far from the site of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory during that historic fire, but that didn't involve time travel.) #TimeTravelAuthors

Even days are for posting whatever!Cover of Titanic Voyage by Julie Bihn. A glowing porthole in front of a starry sky, the ocean, and amusement park silhouettes.

Clara, I haven't been entirely honest. I'm not really one of the men who designed the Titanic. I'm a theme park employee who traveled back in time.

Something terrible's going to happen to the ship tonight. But I'll save you. I promise.

Significant but out-of-context spoilers #HistorytownAZ; click/read the image if you dare!   My #ghostly tears vanished as they struck the ground. #TimeTravelAuthors
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL SPOILERS styled like the "NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC" CDs. I may be old. Generated at https://pixelframe.design/now-thats-what-i-call-music-logo-font-cover-generator/ I was a ghost, trapped inside Liam's yard.

A ghost who might die of thirst or hunger.

At least I could sit on the stoop; it existed in the present and in 2013 both. So I curled up at its edge and wept. My ghostly tears vanished as they struck the ground.

I want so much to go home.

Like many authors, I’ve written since I’m a kid. As an adult, I write because I feel better when I write. It’s freeing to focus on and work out imaginary problems. I always write what I want, so it seems wide financial success probably isn’t in the cards, but that’s OK. #PretendPanel

Outstanding question #AwesomeCharacters! I searched for “laugh” in Titanic Voyage. If someone’s laughing, it’s probably Rocky, and he’s most likely teasing Liam or amazed at how clever he (Rocky) is. His laugh is likened to a hyena‘s at least once. Rocky rarely laughs after THAT scene 🤐…

Might I...is it possible I might submit a short story to a paying market? 🤔🤔🤔🍕 (We’ll see; it’s actually a sequel, so I have to see if I can actually make it work as a true standalone. But it’s a really sweet story, and it might be fun to try.)

Thanks so much #Septopolis and @khonri.com! I learned about how good the Rochesters are to Eloy (which isn't reflected in Titanic Voyage, so maybe I'm picturing them in the future?). So fun to imagine! If anyone wants to visit Historytown, it's #FreeOnHoopla or pretty cheap elsewhere.

Three covers of Titanic Voyage: First is a white cover with a man in a nautical uniform in profile, blue, with the Titanic inside. Middle cover says Titanic Voyage with a glowing porthole and a photo from the Titanic (I think) inside with a sailor walking down the promenade deck and a blue flash of light. Third cover, the one you get when you buy the book now, says Titanic Voyage with a glowing porthole and a silhouette of Liam in a sailor uniform, black with a glow, facing right.

Eloy has a mayor (I assume a four-year term, but the website says 2 and 4 at different places!) and 6 city councilmembers, I assume 3 elected every 2 years. 4-year terms. Pretty similar setup to the city where I live. Website says those are their only elected positions. #Septopolis #HistorytownAZ

It's time! Today is Day 1 of #BOSDaily, my free, real-time read along of Bridges of Smoke. Today we'll meet our main characters and learn a bit about Bolton's...eclectic music taste.
Image of a man in yellow holding a newspaper over his face against a backdrop of more newsprint, overlaid with blue smoke texture. Large white text reads: "9/26. Chapter 1a." Dark blue snippet text inside a transparent white box reads: "Our story starts not with the apocalypse but with a trip to the airport. It was the last real moment before normal was redefined forever, and it's seared into my brain." At the bottom is the logo for Bridges of Smoke Daily and #BOSDaily.

Oh yikes! When I published Titanic Voyage, set in the near future, I had no idea that even immigrants who are in the US legally would soon be arrested, imprisoned, and occasionally shot. I know my stories are in an alt-future but recent events made me realize that... #Septopolis #HistorytownAZ

No one really wishes to live in another time period in Titanic Voyage, though Melia may have thought the most about it. She does enjoy vintage fashion and social history. Immigrants' Journey...? 🤐 #TimeTravelAuthors

Graphic titled: "Who will enjoy Bridges of Smoke Daily?" There are two lists of text, one with green checkmarks next to the items, indicating they would enjoy the story, and one with red Xs next to the items, indicating they wouldn't. The green check items read: "2010s Dystopia Lovers; Actually Autistic Adults; Introspective Sci-fi Fans; Cinnamon Roll MC Enjoyers." The red X items read: "Tech Bros; Autism Speaks; Realtors, Probably." The background is a man in yellow holding a newspaper over his face against a backdrop of more newsprint texture.

Historytown is intended to be a “third space” for folks in Eloy and beyond, with varying degrees of success. I know Disneyland fans made their own “social clubs” and I wonder if Rochester might make official ones, themed to each land/territory. But that doesn’t address… #HistorytownAZ #Septopolis

This is quite insightful. (Though I don‘t put forth even 1/10 the effort @khonri.com does, and after reading this, I don’t plan to!) One thing I forgot about is how magical #TimeTravelAuthors was when we first started on Twitter. It spawned three anthologies (thanks to @joshuadbellin.bsky.social)…

It's gotta be perfect since it'll be the focus on the midpoint! ✨ (Also Rochester is just a *really* fun name. Good appearance, good mouthfeel.)

I love this question! In today Eloy, I think the closest to a museum is the Sunland Visitor Center (hope it's still open?!). It's in the old school. From the style, you can tell it was built back when education and public schools were considered points of pride (1930). #Septopolis #HistorytownAZ
An adobe or adobe-style building, very Southwestern style, with a red tile roof.Historical display inside the schoolJail cell inside the school? This is inside the school they used for black students and I THINK the only area that was set up as an actual schoolhouse when I visited in 2021. Certainly not as comfortable as the main school. Sad.

Today Eloy has pickleball and I bet the alt-future does, too. No local pro sports teams, but the Rochesters’ daughter, Ember, loves robot combat (think #BattleBots), so alt-future Eloy has arenas for probably up to the 30-pound weight class and holds big competitions... #Septopolis #HistorytownAZ

In alt-future Eloy, tourism is the top industry, dominated by Alistair Seymour Rochester III and his family, aka "Rochester." Historytown offers living-wage jobs (insisting on the "human touch" even for ticket booths!), and the family helps fund the local schools. #HistorytownAZ #Septopolis

Most annoying character? I ADORE Rocky, but you have to admit he can be obnoxious, and I'm not sure that I'd love spending time with him in person. (Most annoying POV to write so far has been Clara's because she didn't want to tell me ANYTHING. I managed in the end, though!) #TimeTravelAuthors

Fascinating! Today-Eloy has agriculture, truck stops, prisons, and skydiving, with some manufacturing. Might be working on a recycling plant? There are few things made locally for locals, like most places in the US. In the alt-future, tourism is their biggest export. #HistorytownAZ #Septopolis
