Nothing makes me feel older than trying to play a modern *groans* “Metroidvania” game. 6 attempts at the boss in the Castlevania demo with no improvement over any attempt. Brain just reacts way too slowly to keep up

Next time on The Stage Select: finding a way to explain how a game can be one of the best-written games of the year that I wish had half as much writing.

I love how every party member in @ledgerbound.bsky.social starts off as a gag (rat hobo, prissy prince, diehard corpo, etc.) and becomes so fully realized with a deep arc that you’re left stunned by the end

What’s a poster you had in your room growing up? Can’t remember my old posters, but my room was decked out in wall scrolls for years, including this bad boy:

Don’t know what prompted it, but I was thinking about how there was a time when Star Wars was just…gone. As a kid I would grab every scrap of Star Wars merch and book I could, because there just wasn’t anything around. I was so excited when the Timothy Zahn books came out when I was in middle school

I think it’s super awesome that CD Projeckt did an exhaustive remaster of The Witcher 3 and didn’t charge for it and have put the base game on sale with all the (current) DLC. But it would be cool if you could roll back to the original on console if you choose. You can on PC.

I think a lot of people like myself enjoy having a “big” game and a “small” game that they alternate between. And there’s plenty of people (nearly everyone I seem to follow) that aren’t too interested in GTA VI. So having other options releasing at the same time makes sense to me

I’m probably the biggest MCU fan that I know personally. Street Fighter is my most anticipated movie for the rest of the year

I play a good amount of adult games. So it’s funny that I’ve played two indie games this year that feel like they SHOULD be adult games, but aren’t

Sometimes I look at the moves made by Sony and Microsoft in the past couple of years and it makes me wonder if their ultimate goal is to largely move out of video games. And it makes me wonder if there’s something they know that we never will regarding the future of the industry

I can say that Onimusha is clearly a better game than Wolverine. Easily. But I’m more excited to play more Wolverine each session, where I’ve been kind of struggling to sit down with Onimusha for longer than an hour at a time. Do with that what you will.

Just home from the last time I’ll watch The Transformers: The Movie. Didn’t cry as much as I thought I would. Little disappointed with the overall presentation/lack of fanfare, but the audience was packed and diverse, and the new short is a great goodbye to Peter Cullen.
