Fallout 1 and Wasteland were both made by Interplay. Bethesda owns Fallout now. Remnants of Interplay became inXile Entertainment, and made Wasteland 2 and 3. Now Xbox owns Bethesda and inXile. We've come full circle. Just recreate Interplay and Black Isle Studios at this point. 😔

Found my new "Youtube on 2nd monitor while I relax" game: Vampire Crawlers. I like first person dungeon crawling. I like card games and card battlers. Perfect combo of dopamine and serotonin. Especially the victory music. 😌

Game 38, 2026: Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn + Throne of Bhaal DLC Most would say Bioware's magnum opus is Mass Effect, and I would've agreed years ago. But now, I argue it's BG2. Romance, in depth companion quests, factions...all started here. I even argue BG2's story > BG3's story. (1/n)

Never got into Starcraft or RTS games. Huge learning curve and lots of micromanaging units. The Draconis fight in Baldur's Gate 2 is the closest I'll get. Two phase fight where a guy turns into a dragon AND can turn invisible. After 2 hours of reloading and looking up strats, fuck this guy.😤

A really frustrating aspect of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 is having a game over screen if your main character dies. Imagine you're a couple hits away from defeating an annoying boss fight...but the MC dies due to an unlucky dice roll. Time to reload and attempt the entire fight again. 😭

It's time for me to rant about the terrible "canonization" of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. There are 2 companions from Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 who return in 3, but suffer full character assassination. This was one of the most disappointing parts for me This isn't on Larian, but on WotC's canon. (1/n)

Baldur's Gate 3 is mechanically and visually superior to BG1 and BG2. But Jon Irenicus, the antagonist of BG2, is the best villain out of all 3 games. Compared to BG3's villains, Irenicus is intelligent, sinister, and philosophical. He might be one of the best video game villains of all time.

I was going to play Townfall even if it received mixed reviews. After marathoning the series earlier this year, and suffering through Homecoming and Downpour, there's no way Townfall could be worse than them. Such a great time to be a Silent Hill fan. 😌

This shot of Jenova from OG FF7 immediately reminded me of the Angel Lilith from Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you know the story of FF7 and NGE, the similarities are even more striking.

Everytime I see the Shinra logo and Rufus' banner in OG FF7, it keeps reminding me of the Nongshim ramen Shin Noodle Bowl. In some alternate reality, Shinra was a gourmet company dedicated to cooking up the most delicious ramen. 😔

Boy Dinner Diary: While waiting for my steak sandwich, 3 older dudes at the table next to me discussed anime, and they brought up Ghost in the Shell. Had a nice chat with them, and one of them said he owns the DVD set for SAC. I told him to hold onto that physical media for life. He agreed. 😌
