Do you know the name Dorothy Hansine Andersen? She was the first researcher and physician to discover cystic fibrosis and its autosomal recessive inheritance pattern. As a pathologist, she recognised distinctive organ damage in the pancreases and lungs of deceased children with celiac disease. /1
