What a superb day I’ve had visiting Barrowford Primary today. I’ve felt welcomed, included and privileged to hear about (and see!) the fantastic work on behaviour approaches, curriculum innovations, culture, and so much more. Thank you so much @rachtomlinson.bsky.social and the Barrowford team!

This week (and the end of last) have really given me some great opportunities for reflection, dissection, analysis and review. The power of coaching, networking and connection really can’t be underestimated in the way it can support you!

Having absorbed all the bad it could from the year, the 2024 #LemonPig has passed its penny on to the 2025 #LemonPig. It's got some work todo.

Not sure how unique it is now but combining attendance/safeguarding into ‘Attendance and Safeguarding officer’ has made a huge difference to us.

Absolutely agree, I remember this long, stretched out days as a kid that had boredom written through them but ended with creativity and imagination. Now my brain never switches off, permanent addictive stimulation.

Sadly I think they get the bit that is left over most of the time! Think it is really hard to balance when we are in such a ‘people-facing’ profession and you always want to give your best.

I agree, imposter syndrome is strong in teaching/education and ‘sacrificing’ sometimes seems like the only way to keep up. If people could see a way to do it without sacrificing so much I think they would but it can be very hard to see and even harder to set boundaries.
