If Starmer gets the boot then the next PM will be the 6th since 2016. Can you imagine the outrage if a school had 6 Heads in 10 years! It’s no wonder people are sick of the Westminster bubble and don’t believe politicians speak for them

Filling out some expense spreadsheet data for our annual review with our finance advisor and I’m horrified that the cat cost more to run than my car!!

I think the way that the first two months of the cricket county championship has unfolded shows that this remains the most compelling form of domestic cricket. We need this as an antedote to crash bang wallop franchise games

What an unbelievable book. Yet again @harlancoben.bsky.social produces a blockbuster

The last two hours of the masters was the best tv sport I can remember watching. So pleased for Rory but what a class act and player Justin Rose is

How about this for reporting school inspections 1 Strong school with high standards capable of offering system support 2 Improving school with good capacity to sustain own progress 3 School requires support as capacity to improve is limited Keeps simple & clear what happens next

This is such a lovely painting. It looks great as a photo but even better close up in real life

Brilliant to see Blackmoor Golf Club leap from 71st to 56th in the@nationalclubgolfer.bsky.social top 100 rankings. So much hard work has gone in to make the improvements on and off the course. I am very lucky to have this as my home course

I have seen so many of these new standards launches from ministers in my career. But what always gets forgotten is that curriculum change and inspection revision drives the work burden into classrooms. Teaching is tough right now and I hope straws and camel backs is not a regret we have as a result

Great to see my home club Blackmoor featuring in @golfmonthly.bsky.social must play courses. The picture is from the par 3 15th, with plenty of heather to keep you interested!

Just listened to the @VFTNinian.bsky.social podcast and am buzzing now about the game on Saturday. Was dreading it but now I can’t wait. One good omen is I’m doing an education keynote at the Cardiff City stadium Friday morning and the Jacks will have no answer to that

It’s FACup round 3 draw this evening and the time of year you convince yourself @ccfc.bsky.social will get Chelsea but the reality it’s a trip to Preston or Blackpool

What if you didn’t try to inspect all 10? What if Ofsted choose three that every inspection must contain and schools choose two that they want to be inspected? Perhaps you do all ten across multiple inspections over time. Either way, reaching ten judgments in a day and a half is tough

Sir David Carter @carter59.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

I think this is the worst state I’ve seen Welsh rugby has been in. The regional teams are hampered whichever way they turn and the national side simply doesn’t have players good enough. 11 defeats in a row and it’s South Africa next

040

Sir David Carter @carter59.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

You can have report cards or you can have single judgements but I’m not convinced inspection can offer both. The harder edged accountability of the last 20 years undoubtedly led to improvements but we exist in a different world and we need a different model of regulation now

Have made the move across from X for a better and more positive community. Education, golf and music are areas I love!
