Rewatching Akira last week sent me down an Evangelion sized rabbit hole this week. I'm on episode 18 and shit is starting to get weird. Not sure where it's going but I have lots of questions that need answers. Like wtf are these "Angels" that keep getting creepier with every appearance.

GF & I are still making our way through past Oscar winners so this weekend we watched Kramer vs. Kramer 1979) and The Apartment (1960) which we both really enjoyed. Kramer vs. Kramer is probably the best "new" movie I watched all year and Shirley Maclaine in The Apartment is incredibly adorable.

This year, my girlfriend and I have been trying to watch every past Best Picture winner. This weekend we did On the Waterfront (1954)(4/5), In the Heat of the Night (1967) (3.5/5), and All About Eve (1950) (4/5). #filmsky #oscars All About Eve was the surprise for me. Bette Davis kills it.

I recently got to rewatch The Goonies for movie night and I was pleasantly surprised by what a crowd pleaser it was. There aren’t too many movies I’ve rewatched more than The Goonies as a kid. Probably only West Side Story and Rosemary’s Baby come close. People were also drunk and it was a good time

Just discovered Afterplay, a web based emulator that has apps for Windows, Mac and iOS. This is very cool. I just spent a few weeks organizing my ROM collection with correct media, removed dupes and quarantined proto and homebrew stuff so I’m curious about copying them onto this service.

I watched Disclosure Day and I'll say I liked it, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted out of a first-contact movie. I was hoping for something closer to Arrival or Contact, but it was giving more War of the Worlds in the sense that you can tell this is meant to be a Spielberg summer blockbuster.
