Erica Orden of @politico.com reports that a judge is granting a preliminary injunction to Roger Rogoff, the former court-appointed US Atty of WD Wash, who sought reinstatement after he was fired by AG Blanche less than an hour after his appt. (The plaintiff is not me.) Not yet in PACER.
NEW: A federal judge is granting a preliminary injunction in the lawsuit brought by Roger Rogoff, the former U.S. attorney for the Western District of Washington, against the Trump administration. Rogoff was fired by Trump immediately after he was appointed by district judges.

What Mitch Green will stand by from 2020 is a mandate of Portland voters that police misconduct be addressed transparently, fairly and effectively, by civilians. Not by cops or unions. Not by newspapers. Not by downtown businesses. The old boy network no longer has public support or credibility.

Portland still has a long way to go. There are bad actors - some of which are hanging on for dear life. There is still Federal oversight. Not enough cases are closed - especially violent crime. Data is not being effectively used to shape management. There is resistance to transformation, to change.

My suspicion is when Item 192 hit the settlement agreement the PPCOA threatened to grieve the case, and this was one of the negotiated accommodations. I don't begrudge the officers, but wonder what other unions will want in their next contract.

This was my weekend conversation with 30+ year ER doc. He was unsurprised by the 1 out of 4 stat and noted it takes 8 years of prospective repetitive head injury just to get to the NFL. Advises no person play football at any level. New helmets make no difference.
