In fact, some core tactics of King’s movement relied heavily on a particular kind of backlash from white people (racist and otherwise) which does not not have a modern equivalent due to changed social and cultural norms as well as the political climate.

Facts. There are a lot of parts of King’s strategy with SCLC and SNCC that absolutely cannot work in modernity in part due to legislative changes that make some tactics unsound and others downright dangerous.

one thing i think people might not understand is that you can’t compare public sector titles to private sector titles. a supervisor in public sector has responsibility on the order of a senior manager or, sometimes, director in private sector. managers are directors or sr directors, etc.
