Haven’t posted fresh loaves in awhile so here are some from the past few weeks. First is a regular batch of sourdough and second a new batch with 2/3 whole wheat flour and 1/3 white flour. Outstanding flavor and texture on both batches! Happy baking, ya’ll! 🍞 #bread #baking #food #bakersofbluesky

Recent trip to Owen’s Valley along the eastern rim of the Sierra Nevada. Stopped at Obsidian Dome, fantastic outcrops of pumice and obsidian. And the breeze scented with the vanilla of Ponderosa Pines.

Made five loaves of challah. Kinda lumpy, I probably let them rise for too long after braiding but the bread is still fluffy and delicious. #weekendbaking #baking #bread

Another post about bread. Two sandwich loaves and one round loaf that I made today. Also, the sourdough starter is getting nicely sour; it wasn’t very sour the first few months we had it. Now the sour in the “sourdough” is kicking in! Happy baking, ya’ll! 🥖🥖🥖 #baking #sourdough #bakinglife

New hobby: Baking multiple sourdough round loaves every weekend. Easier than I would have thought. (Aside: my spouse bought me a large Dutch oven 5 years ago and it collected dust until 2 months ago. My family eats the loaves almost as fast as I can bake them.) #baking #ancientyeast
