I recently had the experience of taking a family member to @lighthousebks.bsky.social. The day prior they had expressed sympathy with Ed Sheeran's fence-sitting on the Palestinian genocide. I thought some books might provide answers.

Tfw management asks you to clock out for an indefinite period while a plumbing issue is being resolved, then they get pissed off at you for asking whether you'll be put back on paid standby. It's alright. Why would I mind waiting around not getting paid all night?

There's a few things I can think of. Firstly, I'd reiterate we should be fostering a culture which allows people to express appropriate uncertainty. So much of the discourse right now appears to assume/ demand an unwarranted level of confidence.

Calling all fans of peer production, radical politics, bookshops and libraries! It's time we made better tools for informing our book distribution efforts. So here's my work so far cataloguing information on radical publishers and texts. Make good use. Lend your knowledge. Share far and wide.

Do you guys think they scheduled Epstein's suicide for August so it didn't conflict with Suicide Prevention Month in September? Just seems like the kind of moral epiphany you might have if you were a monstrous bureaucrat.

@rechelon.bsky.social On page 258 of your book, you talk of being threatened with a lawsuit on behalf of a "Dunham" Uni student. I'm right in thinking this is a misspelling of "Durham" right? And that this article relates to the leak in question? I'm a resident of Durham so it comes up in convo.

As a child I was constantly annoyed at my dad's inability to tolerate crowds and most socializing, even just five other people on the same city block could make him freeze up and twitch. Only very recently did I finally recognize he was having autistic breakdowns and it changes my attitude entirely.

end of last year i wanted to do a retrospective of Kevin Carson's The Desktop Regulatory State a decade on and then Minneapolis happened and i realized i could just gesture toward what was happening as clearly being just one more bit of evidence with regards to the premise of the book

Many of the poems in this project are influenced by specific writers or pieces. This one, for instance, is dedicated to @kevincarson1.bsky.social's research on transportation subsidies, particularly due to their role in artificially inflating energy consumption and pollution.

Following yesterday's post introducing The Black Flag Poetical Playing Cards, I thought today I'd share some samples of the poetry itself.

It's roughly a year since I started work on my biggest art project to date: The Black Flag Poetical Playing Cards. There's still a lot to do but I thought I'd start sharing my progress to invite feedback and try and drum up some support.

one of the purely self-interested, selfish even, reasons to not be racist, misogynist, etc is that it makes you stupid and robs you of your dignity bigotry rots your mind, body, and soul, turning you a zombified husk or seething loser

I started a poem about the importance of celebrating the small victories on the course of revolutionary change. Was hoping to add an extra verse before the new year, but this is what I've got so far:

There are many lines that stood out to me while reading "Did The Science Wars Take Place?" (my physical copy is already dog-eared and full of highlighter ink), but I feel this hints at something I've been trying to articulate for a while as an artist.

Gillis operates on such a level I know I'm never likely to fully grasp him on the first read. Yet taking the time over his work has never failed to blow my tiny mind. This book is no exception. It's so useful as to be essential and deeply personal to boot. Read it. Re-read it. Then read it again.

I really fucking hate all the Memorial Day "died defending our freedom" bullshit. There hasn't been a US war in my lifetime that was about freedom. And even WWII was entered *primarily* for economic and geopolitical reasons, not freedom.
