Citywide speed limit really should be 20 mph with 10 - 15 common on a lot of streets. @mayor.nyc.gov has all the tools he needs to make this happen thanks to Sammy's Law which only carves out a few kinds of streets from this treatment.

Sure would be good if Governor Hochul hadn't preemptively taken variable pricing and raising the congestion fee off the table just because the NY Post got angry. On bad AQ days and during periods of excessive heat, we need more tools to reduce discretionary driving.
