Is this a NYC record for people sitting on one granite slab in #daylighting? Now that I'm in Hunters Point & LIC more frequently, I am amazed at how crowded it has become with all of the new housing, stores, restaurants & visitors. We should keep making more space for people!

There was discussion about how it took 50 years to get a car-free Central Park. I noted I've been making films about it since late 1990s. I looked up the @transalt.org movement when I got to NYC in 1991. Kudos to Charlie Komanoff for having these online to explore: komanoff.net/citycyclist/

David Byrne’s show in Queens didn’t disappoint! He talked about his 2026 tour and how he goes out by 🚲 in every city. He showed recent fav photos which included 🚲 and later then a nifty song in which his troupe danced & played with footage of a protected 🚲 beamed behind them and on the stage!

Crazy I've been 🚴‍♂️ 35 years and went over this for the 1st time. A high-altitude crossing over the LIE in Maspeth that can nearly fit a 🚗 and the few times I've passed have NEVER seen one person use it. So I tried it. It snakes up high and the serpentine decent is bonkers. Take a ride with me!

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.

The famous Copenhagen shopping street where it opens up into a triangular public place and gathering place, filled with people.
