Today, Lifeboat Saturday, I’d like to pay tribute to the many brave men and women who volunteer for the #RNLI, risking their lives to save others in grave danger. I’m appalled at the abuse and intimidation faced by RNLI crews in recent weeks. Let’s support and celebrate this incredible charity.

‘Honest Bob’ Jenrick says he wants to “abolish” Natural England, and at the very least stop funding it, in the first 100 days of a putative Reform government. Reform may appear to be on the rocks currently but their plans are terrifying, mad & must be stopped. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...
Jenrick: “Even if you can’t abolish, I don’t know, Natural England within the first 100 days, you can stop funding it, you can turn the tap off and the tap will be turned off a lot of these quangos, and that will drive savings.”

£5million for his security and Farage pretends he’s been threatened and won’t turn up to thank the people who managed his monstrous tantrum by-election, staying up through the night counting votes… or the voters who let him get away with his gross abuse of power. From start to end, an epic disgrace.

2/ The Mail story provides zero evidence of any link between rewilding & wildfires - just loud accusations from the usual self-interested suspects of grouse moor owners & lobbyists. They’ve even had to caveat a wildfire photo saying ‘there’s no suggestion this fire was as a result of rewilding’!
