One of my all time favourite singers. Lost count of the times I’ve seen the brilliant Julia Fordham perform over the years. Tonight she was as fantastic as ever. Where does the time go?…

It was great to meet more BJTC journalism students this week at Coventry University. So much potential! The students were working on radio and TV newsdays replicating industry professional practice and standards.

It’s not all about work stuff here for me. I take the odd snap of Norfolk ❤️ too. A great autumn walk around King Charlie’s country pad - Sandringham House

If you haven’t watched this yet, you should - the best explanation I’ve seen so far about how BlueSky works. (Also - the graphics look like they were made using an app called VideoScribe…I’m 99% sure)

I see that a collection of MPs have taken it upon themselves to “launch” a private prosecution, in relation to a case which is still awaiting a CPS charging decision. What might be the problems with this? 🧵

Our fantastic UEA journalism students have secured four nominations in the national BJTC awards. And in top categories across the multimedia range. We’ve only been going four years, and one of the smallest courses up again all the big guns. youtu.be/ANn1JmICNpE #uniofeastanglia #norwich #bjtc

Bluesky tip for newbies: Bluesky has no real algorithm. Likes here do nothing but show the poster that you enjoyed their content. That kindness is always going to be appreciated by creators, but if you want to help to boost something here, you have to repost it so others see it. 🙂

Tip for radio producers: if you're not making full use of iPhone wide spectrum audio - why not!? It's the best way to hear background atmosphere if a guest is on location, without the need for fancy kit. (example below)

I helped train Howard Hughes when he joined Radio City (Liverpool) and later worked with him at IRN. He was a natural broadcaster who truly loved radio. When he read a bulletin you stopped to listen. Clear and authoritative, but also warm and accessible. Modern-day newsreaders take note. RIP Howie.
