NYFed: By February 2026, Trump's tariffs had contributed 2.9 percentage points to consumer goods price inflation; without tariffs, goods prices would have fallen slightly. The tariffs raised the cost of imported goods AND their domestically-produced competitors.

Fed. judge accuses ICE agents of "apparently perjurious testimony," fabrication of evidence, false statements, fundamental misconceptions about ICE agents' authority, and more. Case involves the accidental arrest of a U.S. citizen who had to get stitches. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
So, the thought is that after issuing a fraudulent arrest warrant stating that petitioner’s information was part of the system when it was not and indicating that he could be biometrically identified even though they had not collected the information to make a positive match, Cuni attempted to reconcile these falsehoods by subsequently collecting the information, adding it to those systems and, after issuing the warrant, searching the databases again to “find” him.

The government moving or hiding jailed people to avoid review by courts isn't some loophole in our habeas corpus rights. This government behavior has been considered a violation of the people's habeas corpus rights since at least the Habeas Corpus Act of 1679. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habeas_...
Jailors were forbidden to move prisoners from one prison to another or out of the country to evade the writ. In case of disobedience jailers would be punished with severe fines which had to be paid to the prisoner.[5][6]

- $45/month is a lot for many, but also - Cars are driven an average about 1,150 miles/month - 1,150 miles is around 46 gallons for an average car - And families average 1.83 cars So that’s about 84 gallons/month/family or $250/month for a $3 increase. Add on the extra cost of transporting goods.

Chart showing monthly ICE arrests by criminal record, January 2025 through July 2026. The chart shows total ICE arrests rising steadily from January 2025, then peaking and falling from January 2026 to February 2026, stabilizing, then rising again in June and July to record levels. Meanwhile, the composition of ICE arrests becomes more and more weighted towards people with no criminal record, and in July 2026, the majority are people with no criminal record.
