If the Democratic nominees for all the statewide races prevail in November, would this be the first time in RI history that three of the five statewide offices are held by women?

Trump officials propose sweeping changes to the census that would reshape voting maps
A Trump census proposal would stop asking about race and exclude millions of U.S. residents from a count that the 14th Amendment says must include the "whole number of persons in each state."

Prior to 2016 Rhode Island had the largest percentage of voters cast their ballots in person on Election Day. If something went wrong a lot of voters were disenfranchised. We fought for early voting and access to mail ballots to take pressure off polling places in case things like this happened

Here's a throwback to 2008, when we filed an access to public records request for a police report, and it was sent to us with redactions. When the full report was obtained in a lawsuit, we found that the police had literally redacted someone yelling "free speech." Happy Sunshine Week!
A graphic with orange background and two screenshots of a police report. The top photo shows a lot of redacted text. There's a box that says "redacted version..." next to it. There's a black arrow pointing to a second screenshot of the same text, with a box that says "...and what was redacted." The text is highlighted to show that police had redacted someone yelling "free speech" into a news camera. The words "sunshine week 2026" and the ACLU of RI logo are at the bottom.
