I get the reason that traffic lights have a 1-2 second pause where all directions are red before the opposite direction turns green. But drivers seem now depend on that and take that extra time to run the red light. Drivers are still going through even as the other direction turns green.

In reviewing election results, at first my thought was that unless an incumbent pisses people off, they win. But the Morales campaign just went out and beat Smiley. Maybe Providence voters were pissed off but compared to what the voters thought of McKee, it didn't seem like much anger at Smiley.

Even with the Emoluments Clause, which is not being followed by the current admin, a President could take actions that benefit companies run by his own family, who reap profits that are shared with the President when he leaves office.
