And next will come disputes about "other people parked in MY space" and a demand that people with gullies get their own reserved parking / car storage space! Agreed that the user should pay.

Car free day - huh? What it should be called is "we'd really rather you didn't use your car today, if that's alright with you, but we know how inconvenient it would be so we're not really doing anything serious to discourage you. 'Cos you'll just think it's a war on motorists" day.

Of course, they’ve had tax-payer subsidy worth billions for 14 years with the fuel duty freeze as well as the “temporary” 5p cut introduced in 2022. Meanwhile public transport gets more expensive. Maybe when the Ukrainian war and the Iran war are over all these subsidies will be taken away. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

In the Guardian yesterday - Fuel prices at four-year high Quote from AA “UK pricing is back at its worst … too often overpriced and uncompetitive …” Estimate from RAC this weekend the UK … could have the worst traffic since their records began in 2015. So not that bad for motorists then.

Would be great if we applied the same level of design, testing and scrutiny used for our children's car seats to the bike lanes they ride to school in.

Black text Car Seat Testing:

Dynamic Testing
This test measures the safety of the infant or child seat during a full-frontal collision at 48 km/h. It is carried out on an acceleration sled that is equipped with a standard bench seat. A crash test dummy is buckled into the infant or child seat, which is then secured to the bench seat using a seat belt or universal anchorages, and a tether strap, where required. The acceleration sled simulates a full-frontal collision at 48 km/h into a wall. High-speed cameras and other sensing devices installed on the sled and on the
dummy allow us to check the structural integrity of the infant or child seat as well as measuring:
How far forward the dummy's head moves;
How fast the dummy's chest moves; and
How much a rear-facing child seat rotates.

Happy 100th birthday to Sir David Attenborough. One of the most important natural history broadcasters, environmental educators and climate voices of our time. 💚
A Green Party graphic celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. At the top, large white text on a bright Green Party green background reads: “HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH”. Below the text is a large portrait photo of Sir David Attenborough smiling slightly at the camera outdoors, wearing a navy blue blazer and white shirt. The background of the photo is softly blurred greenery and natural tones. At the bottom of the graphic is the Green Party logo and the words “Green Party” in white, followed by small print promoter information reading: “Promoted by Chris Williams on behalf of The Green Party, both at PO Box 78066, London SE16 9GQ”.

Sir David Attenborough… on your 100th birthday, we thank you. For a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with such grace and wonder. Generations have fallen in love with nature because of you. Happy birthday, Sir. 🎉
This photograph captures Sir David Attenborough seated outdoors on the rugged terrain of Skomer Island. Behind him, the ocean and coastal cliffs form a scenic backdrop under a clear sky. Sir David, dressed in a khaki jacket and light trousers, looks towards the camera with a gentle expression, exuding a sense of warmth, calm, and wisdom. Around him, puffins can be seen flying and perched on the rocky ground, illuminated in rays of golden sunlight as the sun sets behind the cliffs.
