“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” IT SAVES PUBLIC MONEY to house people.

Lie: Bike-lanes cause traffic congestion. Truth: Bike-lanes help solve traffic congestion. Lie: Bike-lanes hurt street shops if they replace parking. Truth: Bike-lanes help street shops more than street parking does. Lie: Bike-lanes cost us too much. Truth: Bike-lanes save us all public money.

This is complete abdication of responsibility from public heath that will have major consequences. I hope the government is ready for the inevitable litigation because, of course, no one has thought of the down stream consequences or done any real risk assessment regarding this decision.

This is the kind of bullshit many people in Canada internalize, as well. Let's break it down: 1) "America" was created in large part by over 12 million African slaves 2) Over 300,000 Chinese immigrants created the rail and mining industries [1/3]

“Non-pharmacological interventions, such as wearing facemasks, might be useful in preventing transmission in controlled settings but have had low long-term success on a broader scale at the population level”. Lol. Because people generally suck at following instructions and evidence.

This is huge news in the brewing world. I guess it makes sense. An institution that educates brewers from all over the world needs to be located in a liberal democracy, a country that is open to the world. The Siebel Institute is relocating from Chicago to Montreal. www.ctvnews.ca/business/art...

You probably won’t be shocked to hear that after losing his seat in the Canadian election & barely putting any effort into his safe seat “campaign” in Alberta that he needs, Pierre Poilievre STILL refuses to complete the normal security check and try to get the standard, ordinary security clearance.

Horrible decision. Will result in less ridership, lower revenues, more driving and worse vehicle congestion (with all the corresponding costs and consequences). Either they don’t understand that, or they’re ok with all that.
