Listening to a YouTube video in the background & it mentioned a "9 most important albums for various times of your life" game that I guess went around Twitter last weekend. Bored, so fuck it, why not?

1. Spin Doctors - Pocket Full of Kryptonite. 1st album I ever bought (was 8, in a country music town, & "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" was my intro to rock.)
2. Stone Temple Pilots - Purple. My first "favorite band", in middle school. Started w/ Core, but I once knew every lyric to every song on Purple
3. Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The album that made me want to learn to play guitar or sing (never did, was bitter towards my parents about it for far too long.)
4. Radiohead - Kid A. The band of my high school & college years. The album of theirs I revisit most often.
5. Circle Takes the Square - As the Roots Undo. The album of my Savannah years (ages 22-26.) Best screamo album of all time.
6. Arcade Fire - Funeral. The band of my 20s, & I discovered this album right after my aunt passed (the family member who was my mentor.)
7. Against Me - Searching for a Former Clarity. Was already a fan (the original Pints of Guiness is still my all-time fave song), & just like Funeral, I first heard this album right after my aunt passed from cancer. Those two albums just played on repeat for a few years.
8. Murder by Death - Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon. My intro to MBD, the band of my 30s.
9. Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike. Had a few options for #9 but Gogol is the best concert I've ever attended (and represented a high point right before the worst stretch of my life.)
