#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three Democratic appointees, #SCOTUS grants a stay in the third-country removals case; clears way for Trump admin. to continue removing non-citizens without a full chance to litigate the conditions in those countries (while also taking up the full merits appeal).

One thing about Schmitt's blow up today: Jack Smith going to a mediocre NBA game in Atlanta isn't a crime, nor proof he met with someone who happens to live in Atlanta. And as a lawyer, he knows that what he intended to 'prove' today was all conjecture.

People's ability to hallucinate a version of Trump that has never existed will never cease to amaze me. His political ability, which no one in my lived experience can replicate, is he gets people to project whatever *they* want to see onto him, evidence be damned. It's really quite something.

The rest of the country will never understand the enduring spirit of Philadelphia
A handwritten note on a rectangular piece of purple paper features text written in green marker.

The note reads "SAVE THE MUSEUM" at the top in thin, capital letters. Below this, a green line separates the text from the bottom phrase, "GO BIRDS," which is written in larger, thicker, and slightly blockier capital letters. The paper is attached to a surface next to other colorful papers, including a hint of green patterned paper on the right and a light blue sticky note on the bottom left.

Here's a graphic that does a better job of conveying the point than my original post: even by the (insane) standards of the first Trump administration, #SCOTUS is receiving—and granting—a truly unprecedented number of applications for emergency relief from the federal government:
A chart that shows the number of emergency applications filed and granted by the Supreme Court during each presidency dating back to George W. Bush, with the data annualized to show the far-higher frequencies since 2017, but especially during the Trump I and Trump II administrations.
