Meta took down the No Kings instagram; TikTok banned the Musk documentary account for supposedly violating its political posting policies. A reminder that platforms are owned by the wealthiest of people, control the means of media distribution, & put their thumbs on the democracy scale as they wish

Post from Ezra Levin:

❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this.

Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.

TikTok has banned the entire Musk film account, citing political content that violates its policies. The move, which comes just as the Alex Gibney’s investigation into Elon Musk expands to more than 470 screens across North America, raises concerns about Big Tech suppression that the very film seeks to expose.

you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

Would Elon Musk stoop so low as to show off his absurd "flying car" just to distract from being outed for funding Ken Paxton, turning off Starlink to Ukraine, and the release of Alex Gibney's damning documentary about him? Would you put it past him? www.austinchronicle.com/screens/film...

MUSK. Alex Gibney's 4-hour epic is informative & flies by - there's so much scandal & even though this covers A LOT I'm sure it's still not everything - & you get a full picture of the spoiled manchild. Would be a 5 star doc IF Gibney didn't use a genAi Musk stand-in to recreate his IRL quotes.

In a day and age where there so many people in power who promise and constantly lie like Holmes continues to do, I'm kinda rethinking about supporting this film.

Michael Rookard @jikorijo.bsky.social · 15/10/2026

In a sea of glowing reviews for this, I found your's striking in how it goes against the grain. Your review kind of makes me think Fielder is being irresponsible in how he's portraying Holmes. Did you feel that way?

“In a world where everyone is continuously rewriting their own personal reality… what happens to objective truth?”

“That was the central question in the origin of my novel, City of Illusion, City of Lies. At the time I was thinking about silos, bubbles, and ‘alternative facts.’”

“So i turned that into sorcery, and then i thought about the angry, righteous man who would reject all of that. Who was obsessed with getting at the Truth. And I gave him a sword.”
