@dicknixon.bsky.social it innoculates the Ds in the Senate and would dare the Rs to change Senate rules setting up the Ds to run on and do the same in '28. Thune will try to say the it wouldn't matter to change the rules because the Ds control the house, but pressure will be high to do someting.

@dicknixon.bsky.social Mr. President, I wanted to run some of my analysis by you. I think the Ds would be better off if they can get Senate 50-50 or 51-49. Let the rough and tumble D House do their oversight when they're in the majority. Fetterman (Manchin-lite) would be a nightmare to deal with.

Thomas Paine is my favorite founding father. He was famously abolitionist and one of the earliest voices to point out the hypocrisy of fighting for independence while keeping slaves. He also firmly believed that keeping any friendship which required compromising your morals made you a bad person.

I’m going to say this louder for the people in the back, the “AI productivity boost” is that it helps you get to a first draft faster. LLMs are not good enough for you to not review the output and just publish. If they were then your job wouldn’t need you anyway.
